Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team in Albemarle, NC (3-4 days/week). The ideal candidate should possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and terminology. We want a caring professional who desires a team-player work environment. Hygiene treatment rooms have new chairs and dental units, Dentrix software and Dexis imaging. CBCT/panorex, hand-held x-ray machine and wall mounted x-ray machines available. We are NOT a multi-location, corporate dental office.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent disease and promote oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment plans.
- Perform chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments, sealants, and taking dental radiographs using medical imaging techniques.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols.
- Support general dentistry procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care delivery in pediatric dentistry and adult cases.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Dentrix for efficient documentation review and medical coding.
- Monitor infection control standards rigorously to uphold safety protocols within the dental clinic environment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical records management to enhance clinical efficiency.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
- Proven experience in dental office settings
- Strong knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization protocols.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations including pediatrics.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical records management.
Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
