Duties

Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency
Verify insurance coverage using systems such as Epic, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Meditech, ensuring accurate insurance information and benefits
Schedule appointments utilizing dental office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily workflows
Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and courteously
Manage medical records and documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate health information management
Perform insurance verification, billing, and collection activities using medical coding skills including CPT, ICD-9/10 codes, and familiarity with Medicare and other payers
Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, appointment logs, and administrative documents while ensuring confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a clinical or dental setting with clinic experience preferred
Strong knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth; proficiency in Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable
Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, medical billing, and insurance processes including Medicare verification
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing) for efficient documentation and data entry
Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
Prior dental office experience or hospital experience is advantageous but not mandatory
