$300 Sign-On Bonus for candidates with 1+ years of experience with X-ray certification
We are looking for a dental assistant with a great personality and a passion for dentistry! Experience is preferred but we are willing to train a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude! We have the latest in technology including a Trios scanner, portable X-ray unit, and Cone beam unit. We love our patients and believe they deserve the best dentistry we can provide!
Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8-5
Thursday 12-7
Occasional Fridays 9-2
Responsibilities
- Prepare customers for treatment ensuring their comfort and escort them to checkout desk following treatment
- Review treatment with patients and accurately answer questions about treatment
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed for treatment
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient medical history and update records as needed
Skills
- Proven experience as dental assistant or a high motivation to learn a new career as a dental assistant and willingness to take the PA Dental Radiography Exam for certification within 3 months
- Knowledge of dental instruments, set-ups, procedures and sterilization methods
- X-ray certification or willingness to pursue training
- Dental surgical experience preferred
- Trios scanning experience preferred
- Basic computer skills; Dentrix experience a plus!
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
- Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
- Pay based on experience
