Duties
- Assist orthodontists during patient procedures, including placement and removal of braces, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices tailored to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry need
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow
Experience
- Previous experience working in an Orthodontic office.
- Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, X-ray taking, and medical documentation
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment
- Experience with medical coding and understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals
