Dental Assistant
The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients. Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the Dentist chairside, infection control efforts, completing administrative tasks to assist the Dentist including patient scheduling, maintaining dental records, and performing dental laboratory procedures. Dental Assistants are expected to provide outstanding customer service to promote optimal patient experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Perform timely setup and breakdown of all operatory equipment and instruments, and documents in line with regulatory and compliance requirements and to keep the doctor on schedule with daily patient care.
· Greet patients and escort them to the operatory to begin preparation for treatment. Review patient health histories and document all medications and medical conditions. Alert the doctor to any abnormalities.
· Ensure completion of consent forms and signatures prior to dental treatment.
· Perform clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by dentist.
· Take and develop x-rays, CBCTs, and radiographs to upload into patient charts.
· Schedule appointments and update records as needed.
· Promote an atmosphere supportive of good dental and general health by demonstrating good oral hygiene and instructing patients in proper techniques of flossing and brushing or other postoperative care.
· Understand and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and CDC requirements and regulations.
· Record treatment information in patient records via office dental software (Fuse.)
· Present treatment options to patient based on Doctor’s recommendations.
· Take impressions and Bite registrations to fabricate temporary prosthetics.
· Assist dentist in management of medical or dental emergencies that may arise during their visit.
· Participate in team huddles, daily.
· Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by the dentist.
· Maintain a sterile and safe working environment according to current infection control regulations.
· Keep dental operatories organized and stocked in accordance with office procedures. Order additional supplies as necessary.
· Sterilize all instruments, handpieces, and treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations.
· Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases.
· Perform other tasks as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
· High school graduate (or GED)
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
· Possess knowledge of dental health subjects and dental terminology
· Licensed Dental Assistant preferred
· Demonstrate sound judgment by maintaining composure in difficult situations; deals calmly and effectively with stressful situations.
· Highly approachable and social with the ability to relate to individuals from different backgrounds.
· Effective communication skills to build relationships with patients and staff.
· Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Experience in Dentrix Ascend (or similar dental practice management software) a plus
· Maintain commitment to CE for career development.
· Willingness and ability to work required business hours
· Willingness and ability to work at multiple locations
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
