Our established and growing dental practice is seeking a qualified Dental Assistant to join our professional and patient centered team. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Prior experience with dental software, infection control protocols, and various dental procedures is highly valued. The position involves working closely with dentists and patients to deliver comprehensive dental services in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or 3D scanners.
- Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve procedure efficiency.
- Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and proper use of dental appliances.
- Manage patient records, medical documentation, and coding in compliance with medical records regulations.
- Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and assisting with reception duties when needed.
- Ensure the clinic adheres to all safety protocols including infection control and anatomy knowledge for safe practice.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential.
- Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar EMR systems; experience with medical coding is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for patient confidentiality.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and accurately; certification in radiography preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is desirable; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory.
