Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene practices, patient care, and infection control. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting the delivery of exceptional dental services within our clinic environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs.
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using chairside assisting techniques.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Follow infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and appointment scheduling.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical imaging techniques.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care to pediatric patients.
- Strong understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques within a dental setting.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and medical coding procedures.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and documentation review processes.
