Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as SoftDent
- Collect payments, process billing, and manage collections with precision and attention to detail
- Maintain accurate and confidential dental records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Handle multi-line phone systems professionally with excellent phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries or appointment rescheduling
- Support administrative tasks such as filing and data entry
- Assist with insurance verification processes and coordinate with insurance companies to facilitate claims processing
- Ensure compliance with health information management standards while maintaining efficient front desk operations
Experience
- Experience is preferred, but not a requirement. We are willing to train the right person!
- Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic environment is highly preferred, especially in roles involving medical administrative support or front desk responsibilities
- Demonstrated proficiency with dental terminology and the medical billing processes
- Familiarity with dental practice management software
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Bilingual capabilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
- Experience handling insurance verification, intake procedures, and appointment scheduling in a busy clinical setting
