Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
- Prepare treatment rooms by setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly while maintaining strict aseptic techniques.
- Take dental radiographs (X-ray imaging), including 3D scans when necessary, following all safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patients by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology, and addressing questions or concerns with empathy.
- Perform chairside assisting during procedures by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatment.
- Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and adherence to aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
- Collaborate with the dental team as part of four-handed dentistry practices to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental office environment.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety standards; certification in radiography preferred.
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including vital signs measurement and medical imaging procedures.
- Knowledge of medical records management, medical coding practices, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics; compassionate approach is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of infection control. Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
