We are looking for an energetic, organized, and team-oriented Front Desk & Insurance Specialist who loves working with children, thrives in a busy environment, and is passionate about customer service and patient care.
Position Summary:
This position plays a key role in keeping our office running smoothly while helping families feel welcomed and supported from the moment they walk through the door. The ideal candidate is upbeat, dependable, detail-oriented, and confident handling insurance processes, patient accounts, and front office communication.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and parents with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm
- Answer phones and assist families with scheduling appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
- Process and submit dental insurance claims accurately and efficiently
- Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and unpaid accounts
- Reprocess insurance claims when corrections or additional information are needed
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately to accounts
- Review patient ledgers and help maintain accurate account balances
- Discuss financial responsibilities and treatment estimates with parents
- Assist with collections and follow-up on outstanding patient balances
- Maintain organized patient records and update insurance information
- Coordinate communication between clinical team members, parents, and insurance companies
- Help maintain a positive, high-energy office atmosphere focused on exceptional customer service
- Support daily office flow and contribute to a strong team culture
Qualifications:
- Previous dental front office and insurance experience required
- Pediatric dental experience is a plus
- Knowledge of PPO insurance plans, claims processing, and insurance follow-up
- Experience posting payments and managing patient accounts
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Positive attitude with the ability to stay calm and professional in a busy environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Team player with a strong work ethic and dependable attendance
