Job Summary
We are seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols, ensuring the highest standards of oral health care. Proficiency or Ability to be instructed with the dental software XL Dent and Dexis Radiograph system along with strong knowledge of medical and dental terminology. The Registered Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with the entire dental team to deliver comprehensive adult and pediatric and hygiene and dental health services in a compassionate manner.
Responsibilities
- Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup or non-surgical periodontal scaling and root planing as needed and treatment planned.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to radiation safety protocols
- Perform accurate and efficient periodontal assessments of all patients.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in EMR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures.
- Ensure the clinical environment is clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist
- Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics preferred
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or XL Dent.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review
- Experience with infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a dental setting
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement and medical imaging accurately
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to pediatric and adult patients
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
- Effective communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
