Solea laser used for most dentistry; implants placed, orthodontics, root canals, as well as the typical dentistry performed.
You must be experienced and coachable; showing a willingness to learn and assume leadership. Must be able to work as a team player.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through chairside assistance.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging) while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions, fostering a positive experience.
- Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team.
- Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain a clean, sterile environment by following infection control standards and proper sterilization procedures for all dental instruments.
- Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures by applying specialized techniques suitable for children’s comfort and safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is preferred.
- Competence in chairside assisting across multiple specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about treatments and oral health care.
- Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is advantageous; ongoing training in medical coding or HIPAA compliance is a plus. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to advance their career in dental assisting while making a positive impact on patients’ lives!
Pay: $22.00 - $28.05 per hour
