Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current health status to tailor personalized care plans.
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
- Maintain accurate medical records by documenting treatment details, dental terminology, and patient interactions in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Curve.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information and prevent cross-contamination.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience in dental office settings with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as Curve for documentation review and medical coding.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working with EMR systems and managing medical records accurately.
