Asheville Smiles Cosmetic & Family Dentistry is seeking an exceptional Registered Dental Hygienist to join our thriving, privately owned practice in Arden, North Carolina.

We are looking for a hygienist who is passionate about dentistry, committed to excellence, and enjoys building lasting relationships with patients.

Responsibilities

Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary advice, and preventive care strategies to promote lifelong dental health
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and radiation safety standards
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely
Support infection control procedures by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining a clean clinical environment
Monitor patient vital signs before procedures to ensure safety during treatment sessions
Collaborate with the dental team to review documentation, update treatment plans, and coordinate care effectively

Experience

Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office setting
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and medical coding practices
Experience working with pediatric dentistry or treating pediatric patients is a plus but not required
Ability to perform chairside assisting duties when necessary and support general dentistry procedures confidently
Excellent communication skills for educating patients about their oral health needs clearly and compassionately
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation review processes is advantageous
