Our practice specializes in complex oral surgery procedures, anesthesia-assisted treatment, dental implants, wisdom teeth extractions, full arch restoration, pathology, and medically compromised cases.
We are seeking motivated, experienced, and team-oriented Surgical Assistants who thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting and take pride in delivering exceptional patient care.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for assistants who can move with urgency, think critically, communicate professionally, and support surgeons at a high clinical level.
Position Overview
The Surgical Assistant will work directly alongside our oral surgeons to provide exceptional surgical and patient care before, during, and after procedures. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to remain calm and organized in a high-volume surgical environment.
Our ideal candidate is dependable, coachable, proactive, compassionate with patients, and confident in assisting with anesthesia and surgical workflows.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during oral surgery procedures including:
- Wisdom teeth extractions
- Dental implant placement
- Bone grafting
- Full arch / All-on-X procedures
- Exposure and bonding
- Biopsies and pathology cases
- Prepare and break down surgical operatories
- Maintain sterile and non-sterile workflow standards
- Monitor and assist with IV sedation and anesthesia protocols
- Take panoramic and CBCT imaging
- Prepare surgical trays and instruments
- Ensure proper sterilization procedures and compliance
- Review medical histories and patient charts
- Provide pre-op and post-op patient instructions
- Accurately document procedures and treatment notes
- Assist with patient recovery and discharge
- Stock and maintain clinical inventory
- Support front and back office communication for seamless patient flow
- Uphold OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years dental assisting experience preferred
- Oral surgery experience strongly preferred
- Active Texas RDA license required
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Experience with IV sedation and anesthesia monitoring preferred
- Experience with CBCT/panoramic imaging preferred
- Strong understanding of sterilization and infection control
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
- Professional appearance and demeanor required

Work Location: In person
