CLINICAL ASSISTANT POSITION
Clinical Excellence & Patient Experience Role
Pay: $22.00–$25.00/hour + Growth Opportunity + Skill Advancement
WHO WE ARE
At 303 Smiles, we believe every patient deserves a smile that lasts a lifetime — and a care experience they’ll never forget.
For over 20 years, Dr. Derek Straffon and our award-winning team have been creating personalized 303 Signature Smiles for kids, teens, and adults throughout Greenwood Village and the greater Denver area. Recognized by 5280 Magazine as a Top Orthodontist since 2009, our practice is known for innovation, precision, and genuinely exceptional patient care.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly skilled, patient-focused Clinical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, team-driven clinical environment.
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
This is NOT just a “chairside assisting” job.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Takes pride in clinical excellence and precision
- Enjoys fast-paced, high-standard environments
- Values teamwork, communication, and patient connection
- Wants to grow clinical skills and advance long-term within a top-tier orthodontic practice
You will play a direct role in:
- Patient comfort
- Treatment quality
- Clinical efficiency
- Overall patient experience
THE ROLE
As a Clinical Assistant, you are at the center of the patient experience and clinical execution.
You will work closely with Dr. Straffon and the clinical team to ensure every patient receives efficient, high-quality, and comfortable care.
This is a role for someone who takes pride in doing things the right way — every time — and enjoys being part of a high-performing clinical team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Assist chairside with orthodontic procedures including bonding, debonding, wire changes, separators, and appliance placement
- Take digital X-rays, intraoral photos, and iTero/3D scans
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms with strict sterilization and infection control standards
- Deliver clear, calm, and friendly patient education for kids, teens, and parents
- Assist with Invisalign attachments, fittings, and refinements
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical charting and documentation
- Support efficient patient flow throughout the day
- Help ensure the clinical environment is organized, calm, and running smoothly
EXPECTATIONS
- Maintain consistency in accuracy, timing, and clinical readiness
- Communicate proactively with doctors and team members
- Take ownership of assigned clinical responsibilities without prompting
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate:
- Has orthodontic or dental assisting experience (preferred, not required)
- Is calm, confident, and patient-focused in all situations
- Enjoys working with children, teens, and adults
- Has strong attention to detail and clinical precision
- Is reliable, accountable, and team-oriented
- Communicates clearly and professionally in a fast-paced setting
- Takes initiative and looks for ways to improve flow and efficiency
We are looking for someone who thrives in a high-standard, high-energy clinical environment and takes pride in being part of a team that delivers exceptional care every day.
BONUS POINTS FOR
- Orthodontic assisting experience
- Invisalign/iTero or digital scanning experience
- X-ray certification or dental assisting certification
- Experience in fast-paced clinical environments
- Strong patient education skills
GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
This is not a “static” assistant role.
At 303 Smiles, we invest in our team and believe in developing long-term clinical careers.
You will have opportunities to:
- Advance clinical skills in orthodontics and digital workflows
- Learn advanced procedures alongside Dr. Straffon
- Grow into senior clinical or leadership roles over time
- Build long-term stability within a respected, high-growth practice
We believe great clinical team members should grow with the practice — not stay in the same place.
WHY 303 SMILES?
- Work alongside one of Colorado’s most respected orthodontists
- Join a supportive, high-performing clinical team
- Modern, state-of-the-art technology and systems
- A culture that values precision, teamwork, and patient care

- Opportunity to build a long-term clinical career
IMPORTANT EXPECTATIONS
- This is a fully in-person position in Greenwood Village
- Reliability and consistency are essential in a clinical environment
- Strong communication and professionalism are required
- We are seeking long-term team members, not short-term roles
