Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will support the dentist during a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and comfortable experience for patients. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during surgical procedures by preparing and passing instruments, materials, and supplies with precision and efficiency
- Maintain a sterile environment through strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when necessary, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Monitor vital signs and patient comfort levels before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and well-being
- Support pediatric dentistry cases by creating a welcoming environment for young patients and assisting with age-specific procedures
- Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize workflow and patient care efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or Surgical Assistant within a dental clinic setting, with knowledge of general dentistry and prosthodontics preferred
- Familiarity with Dentrix preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and dental assisting best practices
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
