**Job Title: Surgical Dental Assistant / Dental Lab Technician**

This position combines traditional dental assisting with hands-on digital lab work. We're looking for someone with an artistic eye, steady hands, and a comfort with technology, who's excited to learn 3D printing workflows, CAM/design software, characterization (staining/shading) of 3D printed prosthetics, and finishing/polishing of zirconia restorations. You'll split time between assisting chairside and working in our in-house lab.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Surgical Assistance / Lab Tech:**
- Assist the dentist during oral surgical procedures, including dental implants, soft tissue management, and oral surgery cases as a floating dental assistant. Operate 3D CAM design and printing software, and run/maintain 3D printers for surgical guides, models, and provisional restorations. Characterize 3D-printed appliances using staining and layering techniques to achieve natural, esthetic results. Finish and polish zirconia restorations to a high cosmetis standard. Maintain lab equipment, materials inventory, and sterilization protocols. Collaborate with the doctor on case planning and esthetic outcomes.
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures, including suctioning, instrument passing, and maintaining a clear working area.
- Assist with post-surgical care instructions for patients.
- **Implantology Support:**
- Assist with the planning, placement, and post-operative care of dental implants.
- Ensure proper sterilization of implant tools and equipment.
- Work closely with the dentist to ensure optimal outcomes for patients undergoing implant surgery.
- **Technology:**
- Operate and assist with digital scanning equipment and 3D printers for dental implant planning and prosthetic fabrication.
- Help take digital impressions, 3D scans, and use software to aid in the placement and restoration of implants.
- Prepare and maintain all equipment related to 3D printing of surgical guides, prosthetics, and implant components.
- **Patient Care:**
- Provide pre- and post-operative patient education and ensure patients are comfortable and informed.
- Monitor patient’s vital signs and comfort during procedures.
- Assist in the creation of customized care plans and follow-up procedures to ensure optimal healing and implant success.
**Qualifications:**
- Dental Assistant certification/registration(Ohio) preferred, or willingness to obtain. Prior dental assisting experience preferred but not required for the right candidate
- Experience with dental 3D scanning and printing technology preferred. X-ray certification a plus. Comfortable and confident with technology - willing to learn 3D CAN design and printing software (training provided). Artisitc background (painting, sculpting, ceramics, design, or similiar) strongly valued - we're looking for someone with a creative eye for color, shape, and detail. Strong attention to detail, patience, and willingness to learn lab craftmanship.
