Position Summary Community Health Services (CHS) is seeking a bilingual Spanish-speaking Dental Assistant / Interpreter to support mobile preventive dental programs, teleORALhealth services, and patient coordination throughout the Rifle to Aspen region, including Garfield County, western Eagle County, and Pitkin County. This position supports prenatal, senior, and community-based oral health programs through a combination of in-person clinic support, interpretation, scheduling, and remote administrative assistance. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, comfortable working independently, and passionate about improving access to oral health care in underserved communities.
Responsibilities:
In-Person Clinic Responsibilities
● Ability to travel to and support in-person mobile dental clinics in Rifle, Glenwood Springs, El Jebel, and Aspen, with clinic schedules generally structured around approximately one clinic day per week. Some Aspen clinic support tasks may be completed remotely depending on program needs and staffing structure.
● Assist with dental equipment setup and teardown
● Provide chairside support, dental charting, treatment planning assistance, and coding support
● Provide Spanish interpretation support during appointments, particularly for prenatal referrals and patient education
● Support patient flow, including operatory setup and turnover between patients
● Assist with instrument sterilization and infection control procedures in accordance with OSHA and Bloodborne Pathogen standards
● Comfort discussing and collecting sliding fee payments from patients as needed
● Coordinate with CHS administrative staff regarding payment setup or payment plans when appropriate Remote Responsibilities
● Weekly teleORALhealth support (approximately 2 hours/week) including interpretation support and documentation assistance during virtual patient appointments
● Manage dental scheduling, referral intake, appointment reminders, and patient confirmations
● Optional remote support for Aspen clinic days may include dental charting, treatment planning, coding, interpretation support, scheduling assistance, or other remote workflow tasks as needed
● Ability to work effectively in remote settings during standard clinic/business hours
● Access to a private/confidential workspace is required when completing remote patient-related tasks Clinic Schedule Structure
● The dental program is structured around approximately one dedicated clinic day per week
○ 1st Monday: Mobile dental clinic, Aspen (some support activities may be completed remotely depending on program needs and staffing structure)
○ 2nd Friday: Mobile dental clinic, Glenwood Springs
○ 3rd Thursday: Mobile dental clinic, El Jebel
○ 4th Friday: Mobile dental clinic, Rifle
○ Wednesdays: teleORALhealth appointments, scheduling, referrals, and remote dental program support work
■ Occasional 5th-week Wednesday mobile dental clinics may be scheduled when no other clinic is scheduled. approximately 6–8 times per year.
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
