Summary
Were a non-corporate dental office looking for an experienced dental assistant to join our team. Were looking for a candidate that is able to manage patient care professionally and timely on 6-8 patients daily. The ideal candidate will embody strong leadership skills, work independently without supervision, be able to multitask and is a strong communicator.
Were open to part time or full time candidates. Benefits include PTO, holiday pay, uniform allowance, 401k with match and a monthly bonus starting at $250 to $1000.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure all dental equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting treatment details accurately.
- Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, fostering a positive experience.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing medical documentation with Epic or similar systems.
- Maintain infection control protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA standards to safeguard patients and staff.
- Assist with medical imaging procedures, including the use of 3D scanners for advanced diagnostics when applicable.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team in four-handed dentistry setups to optimize workflow efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment, preferably with exposure to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records efficiently.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining patient confidentiality and medical records security.
- Hands-on experience performing X-ray procedures and utilizing medical imaging tools like 3D scanners.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
- Ability to interpret medical terminology and coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients.
