Dental Assistant Join
Smith Dental is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and motivated Dental Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to creating an exceptional experience for every patient.
As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our doctors and clinical team while helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their dental visits.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, surgical, and hygiene appointments.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient care by ensuring all instruments and materials are properly sterilized and organized.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to OSHA and infection control standards.
- Take diagnostic dental radiographs and intraoral images.
- Prepare materials for impressions, restorations, and other dental procedures.
- Provide patients with post-operative and home care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and clinical notes.
- Ensure treatment rooms are stocked and ready for daily operations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and treatment recommendations.
- Assist with scheduling, charting, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and office policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assisting certification or diploma required.
- Current X-ray certification required (as applicable by state regulations).
- Previous dental assisting experience preferred, but motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and clinical procedures.
- Experience with dental software systems such as Dentrix Ascend is preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and sterilization procedures.
- Familiarity with digital radiography and dental imaging systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Some Friday hours may be required based on office needs
