Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding
- Support patient care by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and explaining procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology and anatomy knowledge
- Operate advanced imaging tools like 3D scanners and medical imaging devices to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning
- Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during chairside assisting
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting best practices, we are willing to train
- Familiarity with Dentrix, along with experience managing medical records and documentation
- Strong understanding of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization standards in accordance with OSHA guidelines
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry
- Competence in taking vital signs and supporting medical documentation processes within a dental environment
- Excellent communication skills for patient flow effectively
- Certification in dental assisting preferred; ongoing education in medical terminology or advanced imaging is a plus

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
