Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and confidence
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring accurate medical imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to document patient information accurately and securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform vital signs assessments and record medical history details to support comprehensive patient care
- Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and comfort during treatments
- Support the dental receptionist by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling medical documentation with professionalism
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure in the applicable state or region
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or specialty practice such as prosthodontics or endodontics
- Proficiency with EMR systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools safely and effectively
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality and security of medical records and patient information
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of care
