Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented ASISTENTE DENTAL for our pediatric dental office. The ideal candidate will support the dental team in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety. This role is vital in delivering comprehensive dental services tailored to pediatric patients, utilizing advanced dental technology and adhering to all regulatory guidelines. The assistant will work closely with dentists and hygienists to facilitate efficient procedures and foster a comfortable environment for young patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dental team during various procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed.
- Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols.
- Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic).
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and verifying insurance information.
- Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment areas according to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical imaging procedures and ensure proper documentation of all clinical activities.
- Support pediatric patients by explaining procedures in age-appropriate language and ensuring their comfort throughout visits.
- Keep up-to-date with dental terminology, medical coding, and relevant procedures in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic; familiarity with medical documentation and records management.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols within a dental environment.
- Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and chairside assisting.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pediatric dentistry practices.
- Ability to perform aseptic techniques efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach toward pediatric patients.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and clinical tasks.
