We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. This is a part time position (16 hours/week). The ideal candidate will play a vital role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Job description:
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patients' oral health.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Take and record vital signs, medical history, and any relevant information for patient records.
- Utilize Fuse dental software for managing patient records and scheduling appointments.
- Assist in dental coding and documentation of procedures performed during visits.
- Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Provide support in pediatric dentistry, ensuring that children feel comfortable during their visits.
- Conduct dental imaging as needed to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Proficiency in dental coding, dental terminology, and managing medical records.
- Familiarity with dental software systems (Fuse) is preferred.
- Knowledge of vital signs assessment and infection control standards.
- Experience assisting in various dental procedures is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on oral health practices.
