- Coordinate care for eligible beneficiaries at civilian dental facilities.
- Compose, type, and prepare various forms, technical and general correspondence, memos and reports, utilizing specialized and word processing computer programs.
- Serve as a liaison with local civilian dental community promoting and responding to questions.
- Responsible for the full range of clerical and administrative functions including reviewing dental records.
- Perform records management sufficient to establish, maintain, research and dispose of all necessary files according to policies and regulations.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 10 pounds may be required.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- May be required to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining dental/medical patient records in accordance with regulation and policy; using a personal computer to input data and produce a variety of documentation; AND providing customer service for a dental program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcript with your application.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcript with your application
