Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Part-Time Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering comprehensive dental hygiene services, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a modern, patient-focused setting with a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings, periodontal assessments, and patient education on oral health maintenance
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Open Dental
- Ensure infection prevention protocols are followed, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of equipment
- Educate patients on proper dental care practices and post-treatment instructions
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software such as Open Dental
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Experience with pediatric dentistry and working with children is a plus
- Skilled in dental equipment operation, X-ray procedures, and medical imaging
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and patient education
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Knowledge of infection control practices and healthcare infection prevention standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
