Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Insurance Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing insurance processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating effective communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, coding practices, and managed care systems.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments.
- Process and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to claims.
- Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist in dental coding using CDT code standards for accurate billing.
- Collaborate with denal office staff to streamline processes related to insurance verification and claims management.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, medical coding guidelines, and managed care practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding their insurance coverage and claims status.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dentall office is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of managed care principles and practices.
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and dental coding.
- Proficient understanding of dental terminology.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance in all aspects of the role.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and insurance representatives.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
