Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. This role requires a strong understanding of dental office procedures and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. The Dental Hygienist will ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and performing oral examinations.
Perform dental cleanings and scaling procedures to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Document patient care accurately in Dentrix or Eaglesoft software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
Assist in the management of medical records and coding for insurance purposes.
Maintain aseptic techniques during all dental procedures to ensure patient safety.
Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
Provide compassionate care to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring a comfortable experience.

Requirements

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Experience working in a dental office environment is preferred.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality practices.
Familiarity with Eaglesoft software is advantageous.
Strong skills in patient assessment and care, particularly in pediatrics.
Understanding of medical coding and record management processes.
Ability to perform aseptic techniques effectively.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor towards patients.
