The Free Clinic of Powhatan is seeking a compassionate and dedicated part-time dentist to join our team and provide high-quality oral health care to underserved individuals in our community. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients who may otherwise lack access to essential dental services.

Schedule: 20 hours per week: Wednesdays (9-2), Thursdays (11-7), and Fridays (9-2)

Hourly Rate: $110.00/hour

Position Summary:

As a part-time dentist at the Free Clinic of Powhatan, you will deliver comprehensive dental care in a supportive and mission-driven environment. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team of volunteers and staff committed to improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide routine and urgent dental care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, general restorative procedures, extractions, and routine endodontic procedures
Administer and prescribe anesthetics and medications as appropriate
Collaborate with volunteer and clinical staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
Refer patients to the Dental Coordinator for specialty services as needed
Assist in the fabrication of dentures, partials, and occlusal guards

Qualifications:

Current license to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Strong interest in community health and public service
Experience in patient care management
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
