Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist with various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and medical documentation, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records using electronic health record systems, including Epic.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties, including answering phones and greeting patients.
Ensure the dental clinic is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.

Skills

Proficiency in medical terminology, particularly related to dentistry.
Familiarity with dental clinic operations and procedures.
Experience with medical imaging techniques and equipment.
Strong skills in medical documentation practices.
Knowledge of Epic or similar electronic health record systems is preferred.
Understanding of dental terminology and procedures.
Basic knowledge of medical coding for insurance purposes is a plus.
Experience working in pediatrics or with pediatric patients is beneficial.
Ability to perform dental receptionist duties when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
