Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices. This role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, ensuring a comfortable environment for young patients, and maintaining the highest standards of dental care.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Provide chairside support to ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage patient records using dental software systems (we use Open Dental).
Ensure the dental clinic is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures within the clinic.
Perform routine administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a dental assistant, preferably in a pediatric setting.
Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding is essential.
Proficient in using dental software systems.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children and their parents.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
Certification in dental assisting or registered dental assistant.
