Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice by providing exceptional administrative support and patient service. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical billing, and office management skills to effectively assist both patients and dental professionals.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations, including answering multi-line phone systems and scheduling appointments.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform insurance verification and assist with medical billing processes, including CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all necessary information is collected for care plans.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for efficient patient management.
Assist in the collection of payments and manage medical collections as needed.
Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records.
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans and office policies while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
Collaborate with dental professionals to ensure seamless patient care within the clinic environment.

Experience

Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks such as medical coding, medical scheduling, and health information management is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills are required.
