Beam Dental is looking for a warm, reliable, and flexible team member who can support both the clinical and front office teams. This entry-level, dual-role position is perfect for someone interested in growing their dental career by gaining experience in both patient care and administrative operations. You’ll assist chairside under direct supervision and also help manage the front desk to ensure smooth, positive experiences for every patient.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical / Back Office

Set up and break down operatories for patient care
Sterilize and pouch instruments following OSHA and infection control protocols
Assist with basic 4-handed dentistry (suctioning, instrument passing)
Escort patients to and from the operatory
Observe and learn radiograph procedures (if not certified to take them)
Maintain accurate infection control and sterilization logs
Support dentists and lead assistants with room prep and basic procedures

Front Desk / Administrative

Greet and check in patients with a professional, friendly demeanor
Verify patient identity and collect/update necessary forms
Schedule and confirm appointments using the dental PMS
Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries
Collect and post patient payments; explain balances and payment policies
Upload documents and scan forms into the digital record system
Support insurance claims batching and basic referral follow-up tasks
Collaborate across front and back office to support smooth daily flow

Required Skills and Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Current CPR certification
Friendly communication style and professional presence
Basic computer skills; ability to learn new systems like Dentrix Ascend
Physically able to assist patients and perform clinical tasks (standing, lifting, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Preferred Qualifications

NJ Radiography license (or interest in obtaining)
Completion of a dental assisting training program
1 year of customer service or administrative experience (dental a plus)
Bilingual (Spanish, Korean, or Chinese)
Familiarity with front office SOPs (check-in, insurance, scheduling, payment collection)
Comfort using phone systems, digital forms, and 2-way text communication
