Job Summary
Our general dental office in Overland Park, Kansas is seeking a personable, full-time dental receptionist to join our team. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, welcoming patients to the office, making sure patient forms and insurance are up to date, answering incoming calls, maintaining communications with referring offices, submitting insurance claims and collecting payments. Previous experience with Open Dental is a plus; will train the right person. Candidate should possess good organizational skills, be detail oriented and self-motivated. Candidate must also work well in a team setting and strive to promote great customer service. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am - 5 pm. Duties

Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out processes efficiently.
Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar.
Handle patient inquiries and provide information about services provided.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA.
Manage insurance verification and assist with dental billing.
Review documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Handle phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Become knowledgeable and competent in using Open Dental software.
Support the dental team with administrative tasks as needed.

Experience

Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred; will train the right person
Familiarity with dental terminology is advantageous.
Experience with Open Dental is a plus.
Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
Knowledge of dental administrative support practices and health information management is beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
