Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Referral Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing patient referrals, ensuring seamless communication between providers, insurance companies, and patients. Duties

Coordinate and process patient referrals efficiently across various healthcare providers and insurance plans
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including managed care plans, to facilitate authorization and billing processes
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Utilize CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to document procedures and diagnoses accurately
Communicate with patients regarding referral status, appointment scheduling, and necessary documentation
Collaborate with medical offices to ensure all referral requirements are met for timely patient care
Assist with insurance verification procedures to confirm coverage details prior to appointments or treatments
Maintain detailed documentation of referral activities within the electronic health record system

Requirements

Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment, preferably with dental office experience
Strong knowledge of managed care processes, HIPAA regulations, and medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10)
Familiarity with medical terminology and medical records management
Experience with insurance verification procedures and handling medical billing processes
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies
Office experience is preferred; familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus
Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $22.33 - $26.89 per hour
