We’re looking for a Dental Assistant II, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position you will provide dental assistance in the patient care area in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-18 years) and adults as necessary.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Assists dentist during examination and treatment of children (and adults as necessary).
Application of sealants, monitoring of nitrous, coronal polishing and application of fluoride.
Sterilizes and disinfects instruments not sent to Central Sterilization and Processing, cleans dental carts and sets up instrument trays daily according to guidelines established by the hospital.
Prepares materials and assists dentist during dental procedures on children (and adults as necessary) daily.
Takes and records medical and dental histories and vital signs of children (and adults as necessary).
Takes and exposes dental x-rays on children (and adults as necessary) as ordered by dentist.
Provides post-operative instructions to parents/patients that are provided by the dentist.
Transports medications as requested, excluding controlled substances, following established medication security guidelines.
Performs other job-related functions. Performs clerical and receptionist duties.

Skills & Requirements

H.S. Diploma or GED required
RDA - Registered Dental Assistant by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners required
BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association required
NOM CERT - Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Cert by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners required
2 years' experience in a health care setting required
