Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Specialist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, exceptional patient service abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of dental office operations. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily clinic functioning, efficient appointment scheduling, accurate billing, and excellent patient communication. The Dental Front Office Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for patients and will uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and clear communication.
Collect payments, handle medical and dental billing including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Medicare documentation review to ensure accurate financial transactions.
Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Assist with insurance verification, intake procedures, and documentation review to facilitate smooth patient flow.
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries related to treatment plans, billing, and appointment scheduling with clarity and empathy.
Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry using Microsoft Office tools, and maintaining office supplies for optimal clinic operations.

Experience

Prior experience in a dental or medical office environment is required; clinic experience is highly preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing processes is essential.
Strong computer skills including typing (10 key typing), familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, and health information management software.
Excellent customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
