We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Dental Hygienist ( ***** NEW GRADS ARE WELCOMED) to join our team of excellent dental hygienists to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices. This position has flexible hours and we are open to both Part-Time and full-time . Duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, dental charting, cleaning teeth (e.g., removing plaque), SRP and advising patients on oral health and preventative care.

Responsibilities

Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis and educate patient about them
Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
Perform Scaling and Root Planing and manage patient's periodontal health by performing periodontal maintance on patients who need it
Take X-rays ( bwgs, PA, Pano) and Itero scans
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient

Skills

In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. OSHA and HIPAA)
Sterilize dental instruments properly
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Diploma in Dental Hygiene
Valid license to practice in District of Columbia

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $65.00 - $77.00 per hour
