Come join a fun and friendly staff as a dental assistant/front desk administrator for a small dental practice in Mechanicsburg, PA. This position requires strong skills that include communication, empathy, multitasking, problem-solving with high levels of organization and data entry to ensure an efficient and professional dental office experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

· Patient Management: Greet patients when they arrive and monitor arrival time; escort patients to treatment room and seat them; anticipate and assist dentist’s needs; mix dental materials; ensure patients’ questions are answered thoroughly before they leave; chart patients and record date, service rendered and any charges; escort patients from the treatment room.

· Treatment Room Management and Sterilization: keep dental units ready, stocked and clean; disinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations; sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations; ensure that office sterilization procedures document is on display; implement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipment; maintain dental office emergency kits; follow laboratory procedures according to office protocol.

· Records Management: securely handle patient records in compliance with state and federal requirements, including the HIPAA privacy security regulations; track cases and referrals to and from other doctors.

· Inventory Management: monitor inventory and order dental supplies as needed; ensure that treatment rooms are always stocked.

· Office participation: help in other areas of the office when necessary (i.e., answering phones, submitting insurance claims, collecting patient payments, scheduling patient appointments, unpacking supplies); be an active participant in team meetings.

What We’re Looking For

1+ years prior experience in a dental office is preferred
Experience with Dentrix is a plus, but not required
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask
A positive, team-oriented attitude
X-ray certified
CPR certified
