Job Summary

Pediatric Dental Anesthesia Associates (PDAA) is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, team-centered Lead Registered Nurse to help lead and support our clinical teams. This role is ideal for an experienced RN who enjoys leadership, working with pediatric patients, and contributing to a high-quality outpatient environment.

Responsibilities Staffing & Scheduling

Organize and schedule nursing staff 2–3 months in advance using Google Calendar
Communicate regularly with staff to confirm schedules and manage changes
Ensure daily staffing coverage meets clinical needs

Daily Clinical Support

Facilitate daily nurse handoffs and briefings
Review daily checklists, patient needs, and scheduling challenges
Ensure all pre-operative requirements are completed in advance
Send NPO instructions to families for upcoming cases
Conduct post-operative calls and texts to assess patient recovery
Complete end-of-day reviews to confirm tasks are finalized

Pre-Operative & Post-Operative Care

Ensure pre-ops are completed at least one week in advance
Follow up on medical records and history reviews as needed
Oversee post-operative calls and quality improvement follow-up

Quality Improvement (QI)

Monitor and document QI data accurately and timely
Track trends (e.g., NPO compliance) and follow up as needed
Attend and participate in quarterly virtual clinical lead meetings

Customer Service & Relationship Management

Uphold high standards of customer service
Maintain strong relationships with dental offices, staff, and providers
Support company presence through professional social media engagement

Communication & Leadership

Provide regular updates to the anesthesiologist regarding staffing and operations
Serve as a clinical resource and leader for the nursing team

Qualifications

Active RN license required
BLS required; ACLS and/or PALS preferred
Prior experience with pediatric patients, anesthesia, surgical, ER, or critical care settings preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with Google Calendar and scheduling tools
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Willingness to travel within a 2-hour radius of home
