Summary

We are seeking a skilled Dental Technician to join our team at Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering quality dental services to our patients, ensuring that they receive the care they need in a supportive environment. The Dental Technician will construct, fit, and repair dental appliances and devices according to the policy and protocols for treatment and dental policies. This position is expected to work with the dental team of dentists, assistants, and hygienists to create a positive and uplifting experience for our patients. The Dental tech is tasked with creating detailed and precise dental fittings to boost the patients confidence and increase their oral functions.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Design and fabricate dental restorations, including crowns, bridges and dentures using Exocad software.
2. Collaborate with dentists to ensure accurate and high-quality restorations.
3. Perform quality control checks on completed restorations to ensure they meet our high standards.
4. Operate and maintain specialized dental lab equipment( e.g., 3D printer, milling machines for EMAX and Zirconia)
5. Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental technology and materials.
6. Responsible for sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment.
7. Prepares materials for impressions and restorations.
8. Ensures VMSN processes and protocols are followed on a day-to-day basis by dental staff, volunteers and students.
9. Aids in the development of the training program for Dental volunteers and students; conducts orientations and trainings for dental volunteers on VMSN dental policies and procedure.
10. Assists with compliance of all state, federal, local, OSHA and Infection Control regulatory guidelines including appropriate licensure for the Dental Clinic.
11. Monitors appropriate function, calibrations and testing of dental equipment hardware and software; arranges for repair as needed in consultation of dental health coordination.
12. Ensure accuracy of records in the Dental Records software (eClinicalWorks)
13. Other tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:

1. Dental Technician Certification
2. At least 2 years of experience as a Dental Lab Technician.
3. Proficiency in Exocad software for designing dental restorations.
4. Strong understanding of dental anatomy and materials.
5. Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
8. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
9. Excellent verbal and written communications skills
10. Ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion
11. Positive and motivated self-starter
12. Excellent time management skills
13. Sensitivity to the needs of diverse, low-income and ethnic populations
14. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Dental Technician: 1 year (Preferred)
Dental assisting: 2 years (Preferred)
