Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of the practice. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining high standards of infection control, and assisting with various dental procedures across general and specialized dentistry disciplines.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for patient procedures.
Assist dentists during a wide range of dental treatments, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry procedures.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Manage patient records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and comfort during procedures.
Monitor vital signs and medical history documentation to support safe treatment planning.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures.
Maintain a sterile environment following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team.
Stay updated on dental terminology, medical coding, and advances in dental technology including 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant within a busy dental office environment, with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques.
Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while adhering to safety protocols for patients and staff.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices relevant to dentistry.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and team members.
