Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Front Office Billing & Insurance Coordinator to join our growing oral and maxillofacial surgery practice. This role is responsible for managing patient financial workflows, insurance verification, treatment plan presentation, and fee schedule management within Open Dental.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in an oral surgery or specialty dental office and is confident navigating complex surgical treatment plans, insurance claims, and revenue cycle processes.

Key Responsibilities - Patient Financial Coordination

Present and explain surgical treatment plans to patients
Accurately calculate patient portions using insurance estimates
Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
Provide clear financial breakdowns and answer patient questions professionally

Insurance & Billing

Verify insurance benefits and eligibility
Submit accurate claims in a timely manner
Follow up on outstanding claims and denials
Post insurance payments and adjustments correctly
Manage accounts receivable and aging reports
Coordinate with referring offices regarding coverage and pre-authorizations

Open Dental Administration

Enter and update insurance fee schedules
Ensure fee schedules are accurate and up to date
Input and maintain insurance plan details
Build and audit treatment plans within Open Dental
Run financial and production reports as needed
Ensure accurate coding (CPT/CDT) for oral surgery procedures

Front Office Support

Greet patients professionally and maintain a welcoming environment
Support scheduling workflows when needed
Communicate effectively with clinical team members
Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
