PART-TIME Orthodontic Assistant (1–3 days/week, with flexibility up to 4–5 days for the right candidate)
Orthodontic practice in Fairfield, CT

We are a boutique orthodontic practice looking for a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team. This is a unique hybrid role that includes both clinical assisting on patient days and administrative/office support on non-patient days.

Responsibilities:

Assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures (braces and Invisalign)
Take dental x-rays, photos, and digital scans using an iTero scanner
Provide chairside assistance and ensure a smooth patient experience
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
Maintain accurate and organized patient records
Perform basic lab duties (pouring models, fabricating retainers, etc.)
Maintain strict infection control and HIPAA compliance

On non-patient days, responsibilities include:

Answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
Calling patients (new patient outreach, follow-ups, scheduling)
Managing the appointment schedule
Restocking clinical and office supplies
Cleaning and general office organization to keep the practice running smoothly

Skills:

Proficiency in dental software systems (TOPS preferred)
Experience with iTero scanning or other digital impression systems is a plus
Strong knowledge of dental/orthodontic procedures and terminology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team
Experience with pediatric patients is a plus
Familiarity with x-ray equipment and infection control protocols
