Duties

Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and care.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all clinical tools meet infection prevention standards.
Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and digital radiography systems while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation complies with clinical confidentiality policies.
Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments efficiently during procedures and practicing four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort.
Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging when necessary to support comprehensive patient care.
Support administrative tasks such as patient check-in/out, verifying insurance information, and coordinating appointments using patient management software like Epic or similar systems.
Uphold infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and adherence to healthcare infection prevention protocols.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions about general dentistry or pediatric dentistry procedures.

Qualifications

Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with radiology endoresement.
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting techniques and terminology.
Proficiency with dental software including Eaglesoft or similar EMR systems.
Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and aseptic technique.
Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools confidently.
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental and pediatric dentistry practices.
Excellent communication skills for effective patient management and collaboration within the healthcare team.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting instruments or supplies, and maintaining clinical confidentiality at all times.
