Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Dental Hygienist who is passionate about oral health education and delivering high-quality preventive care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to contribute to a positive patient experience. You will play a vital role in our practice, helping our patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing.
- Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments, including periodontal charting and risk assessments.
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide (if licensed and applicable).
- Take and develop dental radiographs (digital).
- Apply fluoride treatments and sealants.
- Provide comprehensive oral hygiene instruction and patient education tailored to individual needs.
- Educate patients on proper brushing and flossing techniques, dietary habits, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, dental findings, and treatment plans.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with dentists, dental assistants, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Stay current with continuing education requirements and advancements in dental hygiene.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- Valid and active Dental Hygienist license in the state of Ohio.
- Current CPR certification.
- Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certification (if applicable and preferred).
- Proficiency in using dental software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
