Job Summary
We are a small private practice in Durango looking for a part time Hygienist. Work days as of now would be Tuesday, Wednesday Afternoon, and Thursday, but we can add some flexibility. Starting hourly rate of $50 an hour. We have a really great and professional staff and are looking to add another exceptional team member.
Duties
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and periodontal assessments for patients.
- Review and document patient medical histories and current medications.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist in the development of individualized patient care plans based on assessments.
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices during procedures.
- Collaborate with dentists to provide optimal patient care in general dentistry settings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising dentist or office manager.
Requirements
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- Strong knowledge of dental assisting practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with documentation review, medical records management, and medical coding is preferred.
- Excellent patient assessment skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
- Proficient understanding of infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and education regarding oral health.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
