Position Title: Clinical Team Lead
Reports To: Practice Manager and Owner Doctor
Supervises: Dental Assistants, Sterilization Techs, and other clinical support staff
Position Summary:The Clinical Team Lead will be based in the Greensburg MDA location and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the clinical team, ensuring high standards of patient care, clinical efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role serves as a bridge between the clinical staff, the administrative team, and the doctors, supporting both operational excellence and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
· Serve as the primary point of contact for the clinical team.
· Works directly with C-level team creating training protocols in all clinical aspects of the clinical team members roles.
· Support onboarding, training, and mentoring dental assistants and other clinical staff.
· Maintains team member files with clinical documentation. Ensures all license requirements are up to date.
· Provide regular feedback, coaching, and support to team members to promote professional growth.
· Works in conjunction with the OM completing team scorecards and addresses any performance issues.
· Develops and manages scheduling clinical staff to ensure proper coverage and productivity (including any last-minute changes, call offs). Work with OM to adapt team and/or patient schedule as necessary through changing conditions.
· Fosters a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork and communication.
Clinical Operations
· Ensure all treatment rooms are properly stocked, organized, and ready for patient care.
· Oversee sterilization protocols and ensure OSHA, CDC, and infection control compliance.
· Maintain and monitor clinical equipment, arranging service or repairs as needed.
· Collaborate with the administrative team to improve workflow and patient scheduling.
· Oversee dental office supplies, ordering supplies as needed.
· Ensure that emergency kits and first aid supplies are stocked properly and up to date.
· Communicate with OM regarding any facilities-related issues, with specific attention paid to the clinical space.
Patient Care & Experience
· Support an exceptional patient experience by ensuring the clinical team operates efficiently and compassionately.
· Assist with patient care as needed, including chairside assisting during procedures.
· Handle patient concerns related to clinical care professionally and in coordination with the doctors.
Compliance & Safety
· Maintain and enforce protocols related to OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and clinical documentation.
· Lead or assist with clinical audits and compliance checklists.
Communication
· Act as a liaison between clinical staff and doctors to ensure clarity in communication, delegation, and expectations.
· Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to the development of practice policies and improvement initiatives.
· Lead clinical team meetings and huddles to align staff on goals, priorities, and feedback.
Qualifications:
· Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) preferred
· Minimum of 3 years of clinical dental experience; leadership experience is a plus
· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Demonstrated ability to lead a team and handle conflict resolution
· Knowledge of dental software and digital
