Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their oral health is maintained through effective hygiene practices. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and aseptic techniques. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to deliver exceptional patient care in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of maintaining good dental health.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as necessary.
- Assess patients' oral health by reviewing medical histories and conducting preliminary examinations.
- Document patient information accurately in the dental office systems, including treatment plans and progress notes.
- Assist in the management of infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Collaborate with dentists and other staff members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide support in medical coding related to dental procedures when required.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and techniques.
Qualifications
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and vital signs.
- Familiarity with infection control procedures and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting.
- Experience working in a dental clinic or office is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Proficiency in using dental office systems for documentation and patient management.
